"Thy Word Is Truth"

“So there was division among the people because of Him” (John 7:43)

Introduction

The day the Lord Jesus Christ empowered and sent out the twelve apostles to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the various cities of Israel, He concluded His instructions to them by the following astonishing words...

Explaining Salvation Basics of God's amazing plan

Our Purpose

The purpose of this web site is to share with you a variety of Bible studies that I believe will strengthen and encourage the spiritual life of every Christian.  However, I also recognize that since we are living in days of spiritual apostasy, compromise and general satisfaction with man-made religious inventions, a great number of  those professing the name of Christ will not at all appreciate the material they will find herein.

The words of the apostle Paul to Timothy are therefore apropos—“Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (II Tim. 4:2-4).

Consequently, there is an abundance of information posted on this web site as to just exactly what authentic, Biblical Christianity is all about.  In addition, for those who may doubt their salvation, or do not even profess to be Christians, you will find basic truths explaining the plan of salvation.

The majority of the studies are written by myself, Jack W. Langford, and are supported by other Christians who wish to have a part in my service to the body of Christ. During my full time ministry from the later 1960s through 1991 I wrote the following statement, for those who made inquiry as to what we believed, which I will reprint here—

The Scriptures teach that all who believe the gospel of Christ (Rom. 1:16; Acts 16:31 &   I Cor. 15:1-5) are saved from the guilt and penalty of sin and have been supernaturally baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ and into the “Church which is His body” (I Cor. 12:12,13; Acts 2:47 & Rom. 6:3-6). Christians are commanded by the Head of the Church to “endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace…there is one body” (Eph. 4:1-6). Consequently, we have come out of the various man-made Church denominations and religious corporations (I Cor. 1:10-13; 3:1-4 & II Cor. 6:14-7:1). We meet together only in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17 & Acts 11:26). We realize that this precious Name is the common property of all believers everywhere. This all-inclusive body of saved people constitutes the true Church that Christ alone is building (Matt. 16:18 & Eph. 2:19-22). We are only a very small part of that glorious Church or “Holy Temple in the Lord.”  Realizing that we are embodied by Christ through the Holy Spirit we should never seek to be re-embodied (incorporated) religiously by the State. To do so would be to only produce a human creation in contrast to the Divine creation.  No doubt, our desire to WALK in these truths instead of just TALK them is what makes us stand out in contrast to most other professing Christians.

On the other hand, I am sure that there are many more Christians whom I do not know all over the world who, in varying degrees of love for Jesus Christ, want to be one with all believers everywhere. We pray for them and from time to time get to meet more of the family of God.

We desire to be men like Ezra of old who, “prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to DO it, and to TEACH (it)…” (Ezra 7:10). A few in Ezra’s generation came out of Babylon to rebuild for themselves the Temple of God and walk in His truths. Though small in number and pitiful compared to earlier generations, yet they rejoiced in the opportunity to allow the Word of God to work in their lives.
